Perception — Chapter 6: Residual Certainty
Residual Certainty examines moments in which urban space still appears reliable, yet subtly withdraws its assurance. Structures remain legible, pathways stay open, and architecture continues to signal order — but certainty persists only as a residue, no longer fully convincing.
Rather than depicting disruption or loss, the images focus on a quieter condition: environments that function, but hesitate; spaces that offer direction, yet resist confirmation. Orientation is suggested, not guaranteed. Progress unfolds without resolution.
Photographed in Hamburg, this chapter marks a later phase within the Perception cycle — a state in which clarity has not collapsed, but can no longer be taken for granted. What remains is not disorientation, but a restrained tension between stability and doubt: a city that still works, while gently questioning its own reliability.
